China Photos Part 5 - Shanghai

From Xian we flew to Shanghai and took the Maglev Train into the city–top speed 268 miles per hour. (It was awesome.)
Highlights in Shanghai included:
- Yuyuan Gardens
- The Shanghai Museum
- Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall (Much more interesting than it sounds)
- Nighttime walk on The Bund
- Living it up in the swank, Rui Jin Hotel
- Walking around the tree-lined French Concession (which reminded Katy of the West Village in New York)
- Avoiding the “Tea House” scam in People’s Park (more on that later)
- Dinner at the “changes faces” Szechwan restaurant with two Shanghai locals that graciously took us out on the town
Enjoy the photos.

Loved this set of photos, too.
The “Magic Mountains” urban planning photo was pretty neat. I’d love to experience a city built to those specs.
Are there more photos to come?

“More dragons” — that’s a hot one.

Yeah, that whole exhibition was great. (There should be some links in the photo captions for more information.) The ideas presented were pretty incredible, but the collaboration was an experiment. I’m not sure if any of these things will ever become a reality.

Two more sets coming after the holiday: Great Wall & Beijing!
> “More dragons” — that’s a hot one.
I took a *lot* of dragon photos… Katy only let me post a few.

[...] Jeff and Katy recently returned from a trip to China, which must have been an amazing journey, if their photos and descriptions are any indication. Some of my favorite posts cover Xian and the Terracotta Army and Shanghai, but there are several others listed on Jeff’s website, Peebo.net. [...]
