hey Peebo. those fries looks nice:-) I just want to say few words about lunch. As a European guy i think of food is a different way. For me the most impotrant meal is breakfast. Then second breakfast (In US it's called brunch as i remember :-) and then lunch about 2/3 pm. sometimes later depending of the day. Lunch of course in our family has to be at least 2-3 dishes. Soup and the second part usually meat with potatos, salad, and the best part, The dessert with a cup of coffe. :-) and then in the evening we have supper (usually similar to breakfast) The think with the lunch is that it should change during the week, So you dont eat the same thing. And the worst part is to think of what to cook for next day or two. There are few dishes that are easy to prepare but cannot eat steaks all the time. :-) thats why we try to make some fancy dishes during some of the weekend with some help of Nigella Lawson (she's awesome) or Jamie Oliver's recipies (if i am in a mood for cooking, cause sometimes after the whole week you just want to do nothing during the weekend or spend it with friends not thinking about cooking :-)
but when you look at Italians for example. for them the most important is supper. They care much about what they eat and spend much time eating, it's a celebration at the end of the day. When you spend time with family, talk, eat, drink wine and it takes ages. Thats what's missing in our lives lately. We just sit, eat and run to do some work. Thats what i think should be changed. (not mentioning the soda to every meal when staying in US for a year, and what for me was terrible nobody drinks hot tea) The break for lunch during workday is not so popular in Poland but maybe it should be changed.
hmm i think i just want to say too many things so i should stop that writing....:-)
nice to come to that blog from time to time.
cheers

I gotta disagree. People TOTALLY care what you had for lunch. It blows my mind. Someone, can't remember who, started a "Day In The Life" meme-type thing, where you just recite the effluvia and minutiae of your day, minute-by-excruciating-minute. Thankfully, people take turns doing it, and don't do it on the same days, and not very often, but these are some HUGELY popular posts.

But the king of sites chronicling crap you cooked and ate is flickr. Lordy, I love me some flickr.

And you can spend lots of time and pour out your guts on heart-rendingly serious topics--Alex and I have both just done that this week, to good response. But my biggest response from blogging by FAR? A recent post in which I griped, at some length, about the apparently transgendered cattle depicted in the animated movie, "Barnyard." I am not kidding. I made the front page of the "features" section of a Florida newspaper with that one, and Googling many combinations of the terms barnyard, cows, male, udders, Steve Oedekerk, Nickelodeon, etc. will return my site above even the movie's official website. WILD.

Deep is good, for blogging. Blogging can build communities; it can change the world. But why do we read? Escapism. Get me in someone else's life (and, by natural extension, out of my own) for a few minutes. Heck, give me an idea for my lunch tomorrow! Ahhhhhhhh.

Glad to see you back.
