Catch-Up

Hi. It’s been a while, huh?

I won’t bore you with another excuse for not posting (see August 26, 2004 “Excuses” post as it is still valid) and instead just jump in.

First, you’ll notice that I did a little backdating. I added brief entries for August 21, August 27, September 3, September 18, and September 19 en masse this morning. They were things I wanted “on the record.” Stay tuned for more dish on some of these events.

[pausing while you glance at the backdated posts…]

As you can see, just because I haven’t been an active blogger doesn’t mean that I haven’t been active. In fact, Katy and I haven’t had a weekend since July 31st where we didn’t have some sort of weekend trip, visitor, commitment, or other planned activity. This is not a complaint, mind you, just a statement of (hectic) fact. With the exception of those weekends I spent working, most of my weekends have been fun-filled: weddings, parties, friends from Cali, Labor Day in Arkansas, etc.

But enough about the past.

It’s a beautiful, sunny day in New York City and I’m, well, inside blogging. But I can see people outside walking around and they seem to be enjoying themselves immensely. Katy is doing laundry and I’m trying to wrap up my blogging by noon, as it seems that my weekday job has once again spilled over into my weekend. After I post this I’ll probably spend about three or four hours working. (Boo.)

However, after I’m done with that we’re going to walk over to the ole’ Barnes & Noble at Union Square and look for some books about Ireland. Why are we looking for books about Ireland? Glad you asked. Because we’re going to spend ten days on the Emerald Isle starting next Saturday!

We’re leaving next Friday night and flying into Dublin. We’ll spend Saturday and half of Sunday in Dublin before picking up a rental car and heading southwest. We’ll spend the next few days driving around the west coast (western county Cork, Dingle Peninsula) before heading north to the cliffs of Mohir and the Aran Islands. We’ll end up in Shannon and fly back to NYC from there.

Oops. It looks like my blogging time is up.

Adios.

ps – I appreciated those emails asking about the status of the blog. Thanks for caring. :-)

    Hey!
When you are in Ireland don’t forget to get some info on the Harts. I’m not REALLY sure about the spelling, but think that’s right. This is Mamaw Cora’s people.
